Meet Tim Bearden
Tim Bearden has called West Georgia home for more than 50 years. A graduate of Bremen High School, Tim began his career in law enforcement with the Villa Rica Police Department before rising to the rank of sergeant with the Douglasville Police Department’s motorcycle division. He and his wife, Triska, have been married for 31 years and have two adult children.
Tim’s commitment to public service has spanned decades. He previously represented portions of Carroll and Douglas Counties in the Georgia House of Representatives, and later served as Executive Director of the Georgia Public Safety Training Center under Governor Nathan Deal and as Deputy Chief of Staff to House Speaker David Ralston. As your State Senator, Tim is delivering conservative results for West Georgia. He has supported efforts to cut Georgia’s income tax, provide tax rebates to hardworking families, deliver property tax relief, and rein in costly lawsuit abuse. Tim has also worked to strengthen public safety, support law enforcement, improve Georgia’s prison system, and ensure first responders have the resources they need to keep our communities safe.
Tim remains focused on protecting Georgia families and preparing the next generation for success. He is defending the conservative values that make Georgia a great place to live, work, and raise a family. Tim continues to be a strong voice for West Georgia in the State Senate.

With Georgia continuing to see large surpluses, Tim is working alongside the General Assembly and Governor’s Office to lower the state income tax and let hardworking Georgians keep more of what they earn. He also understands the challenges facing small businesses as the costs of labor, goods, and everyday operations continue to rise. That’s why Tim supports reducing corporate income taxes, with the goal of eventually eliminating them, so businesses have more opportunities to grow, expand, and create good-paying jobs.
Tim also works closely with the business community to help build a workforce prepared for the jobs of tomorrow. He knows that not every successful career requires a four-year degree, and Georgia’s outstanding technical college system provides countless opportunities for individuals to learn a trade, begin a new career, or pursue a different path to success.
Stand with Law Enforcement
Fentanyl is devastating families and communities across our country, and Tim believes those who traffic this deadly poison must face serious consequences. He has backed legislation making Georgia one of the toughest states in the nation on fentanyl traffickers and supports strong mandatory minimum sentences for those fueling this deadly epidemic.
As a former law enforcement officer, Tim knows firsthand the sacrifices our police officers and first responders make to keep us safe. He supports enhanced penalties for those who assault law enforcement. Tim is also working with the House, Senate, and Governor’s Office to ensure Georgia schools have the resources necessary to strengthen security for every student and teacher.
Defend Our Conservative Values
Tim has a proven record of defending our constitutional freedoms. As the author of what was, at the time, the largest Second Amendment reform bill in Georgia history, he helped restore rights that had been chipped away for decades. He continues to stand strong for the Second Amendment and the rights of law-abiding gun owners.
Tim is proudly pro-life and remains committed to protecting the unborn and defending the sanctity of life. He also stands up for fairness in women’s sports, supporting efforts to ensure biological males do not compete in women’s athletics and protecting opportunities for Georgia’s female athletes.

Tim stands with President Trump in demanding a more secure southern border and stronger enforcement of our immigration laws. As a State Senator, he has proudly voted to strengthen Georgia’s laws against illegal immigration and continues to support efforts to crack down on those who enter our country illegally.
Tim understands the real-world consequences of failed border policies, from dangerous gangs to drug trafficking in our communities. He remains committed to putting the safety of Georgia families first and ensuring our state never becomes a safe haven for illegal immigration.
