Meet Tim Bearden
Tim Bearden has been a resident of West Georgia since moving to Haralson County in 1975, and graduating from Bremen High School. He started his career in law enforcement with the Villa Rica Police Department rising to the rank of Sergeant with the motorcycle division for the Douglasville Police Department. Tim now lives in Carrollton with his wife of 28 years, Triska. They have two adult children.
In 2004 Tim was elected as State Representative for House District 68 encompassing parts of Carroll and Douglas Counties. During Tim’s service in the State House, he championed our conservative values by voting to cut taxes, protect life, and strengthen Georgia’s immigration laws. Tim eventually became the Chairman of Public Safety and Homeland Security, proudly advocating for his partners in law enforcement.
In 2011, Governor Nathan Deal appointed Tim as the Executive Director over the Georgia Public Safety Training Center. In this role, Tim led the main state training facility responsible for basic and specialized training for law enforcement and fire fighters. Following his public service at GPSTC along with a stint as Deputy Chief of Staff for House Speaker David Ralston, Tim joined the private sector and works in Government Affairs.

With Georgia continuing to have large surpluses, Tim will work along with the legislature and Governor in reducing the State Income Tax so citizens can keep more of their hard earned dollars. Our small businesses are suffering with higher cost to do business from labor cost to increase cost in goods. We are seeing businesses close or reduce hours. Tim believes we should also look at reducing corporate income taxes (to an eventual elimination) so businesses can be better prepared to grow/expand and increase good employment opportunities. Tim will work closely with the business community to get their input on how we can help create a ready workforce. Not every good paying job requires a four year degree. We have an amazing technical school system in Georgia to help prepare individuals that want to change their career path or start a career in countless technical industries.
Stand with Law Enforcement
Fentanyl is a drug that is killing approximately 100,000 of our citizens a year across our country. This poison is bringing heartbreak to families and destroying the fabric of our community. Tim will bring legislation that will make Georgia the toughest state in the nation for traffickers that bring Fentanyl into Georgia. There must be tough mandatory minimums to fight this epidemic sweeping our state and country. Tim will also push for enhanced penalties for those that assault our law enforcement and first responders. This horrendous defund police movement has put the people that protect us in harm’s way. We must make sure our first responders know we support them and have their back. Tim will do everything possible to protect our first line of defense here at home. Finally, Tim will continue to work with the House, Senate and Governor’s office to give our schools the ability and tools to harden themselves to ensure they are safe for every child and teacher.
Defend Our Conservative Values
As the author of the largest 2nd Amendment reform bill in Georgia’s history at the time, Tim worked to restore many freedoms that were lost over decades of eating away at the 2nd Amendment. Tim will always stand to protect the 2nd Amendment. He is also grateful to be supported by the pro-life community in the past and will continue to be 100% pro-life in the future. Tim believes that we need to make our citizens at the end of their lives are able to ensure their wishes are adhered to. These end-of-life care decisions should be made by the patient and/or family members. Absolutely no government agency or judge should have the authority to decide who lives or dies in Georgia.
Stop Illegal Immigration
Tim stands with President Trump demanding we fully secure the southern border and build the wall. As a State Representative, Tim proudly voted to strengthen Georgia’s laws to combat illegal immigration. As a law enforcement officer, Tim knows the dangers of Joe Biden’s open border policies allowing dangerous gangs and drug trafficking to run wild. In the State Senate, Tim will vote to further crack down on illegal immigration.
Defend Georgia From Biden
It’s no secret that Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and their liberal allies in Washington are out of control. Tim knows that Georgia has become ground zero to stopping their agenda and getting them out of the White House. Tim was a proud supporter of President Trump, and fully backs his presidential campaign in 2024.
